Mutts have offered to take these babies before the freezing temperatures get to them first – if they agree to let Mutts have them all, then we will need to raise the funds to get them here – we HAVE to help. PayPal details can be found on this website – please type in the comments box “For Romanian Pups” If you don’t do PayPal, please ask for Mutts bank details. Please donate if you can.
From time to time, a special case comes to our attention, that we just have to try to help. We hope you will be able to help us in some way, for example by making a donation.
It's easy to donate using PayPal - click the link on the left. And do tell us what you'd like to help with - look out for the "Your message" link when reviewing your donation in PayPal.
Can you offer a foster home to one of the needy dogs waiting for their chance at home life?
Foster homes are urgently required as there are too many dogs for the kennel spaces available.
We also really need a homechecker for the Bedford area.
Volunteers are always needed to help with the rescue dogs, cleaning kennels and veterinary runs etc. particularly on Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday and Friday mornings and all day Saturday. If you can spare any time to care for needy animals, please contact the kennels to arrange some volunteer work.
Does anyone have some spare fencing panels or patio/paving slabs ?? If you have any that are surplus to requirements, please call the kennels who will gratefully take them off your hands.
Mutts in Distress are bringing this beautiful German Shepherd (Alsatian) from Bulgaria, where she was spotted on the Internet as looking for a home.
A year on from rescuing Sandy, the white German Shepherd from Greece with the same condition, we are now going to work with Chaim, the vet who repaired Sandy, to fix this little girl and give her a better life too.
Her surgery will be carried out free of charge by this very caring vet and all follow up care will be carried out by Mutts in Distress.
We would like to find Maria a home of her own, so that like Sandy, her sad life will become happy ever after.
Maria is now safe in the care of Mutts in Distress and on 10th March, we are taking her to see Chaim for her initial visit and x Rays, ready to start the next part of her journey to a better life. We will share all costs involved with Chaim, to get Maria’s legs straightened – just as we did with Sandy.
Donations are urgently required for her pain killers, pre-op scans, bandaging etc. These are needed in order for Mutts in Distress to help this poor dog.
Together, we WILL make it all better for Maria.
We have two ladies who crochet little blankets for the small animals here. They can do even more if we can get them the wool. Please have a sort out and bring your surplus wool to the kennels. Thank you.
Now that the wet weather is here, we are finding it extremely hard to dry all the blankets so kindly donated throughout the summer.
We need towels and quilts that are soft and cosy, but easy to dry. We are also appealing for vetbed type bedding, it looks a bit like sheepskin, usually cream coloured but comes in all colours and patterns. It’s very warm and very easy and quick to dry.
We are also in need if some more dog coats -all sizes. We do have lots of dog coats but with record numbers of dogs in this year, many have just worn out or been destroyed by the dogs! Winter creeps in fast in rescue!
Due to living as strays and eating whatever they could find, we have several dogs arriving with poorly tummies. The six puppies due in soon will need a bland diet also. We are getting through so much tinned Chappie, that we are stripping the shop shelves of the stuff!
This is an appeal for donations of tins of Chappie or Butchers Tripe please (not gravy), either loaf or jelly. It smells yummy and if we can’t get them to eat the Chappie, they will often eat the tripe. We are desperate for more tins due to a huge demand.
Can you add a tin or two to your shopping please ? (We do have drop off points for people in Harlow if it’s not convenient to come to the kennels).
