Letters to Mutts

It's great to hear from people who have given a home and a family to one of our dogs. Here are some of the letters we've received.

Big Oscar

Hello, it’s me Oscar.

Here I am, happy in my new home, having a cuddle with my new Dad.

Phillip

Phillip

Dear Mutts,
We rehomed a rescue dog from you nearly two years ago called Phillip. He is a Staffie cross. We were
wondering if you would like to see how much he loves his life and see some photos of him in his
homes both here and in  Spain!
This is Phillip now called Tommy, who is a serious Daddy’s boy and he has bought so much into our lives.
Thank you.

Chris Fat Fish

Chris Fat Fish

Dear Pat,
Here is Chris the Fat Fish, your first rescue fish !
As you can see, he’s settled very well and has made lots of friends and is very happy. He has a bit of a food
issue, (as in wants to eat it all) but we will work on that because he seems to be getting very fat.

Buster
Hey Pat,
Thank you for a really nice show.  I hope we’ve raised more money this time. I’ve got Buster’s certificates and rosettes on the wall already, hopefully it will grow. Lots of love Melissa x

Jessie

Hello all at Mutts In Distress,
My name is Jessie (you would have known me as Abbi). I have settled in well with my new family, finally got them to behave as I want them to! We had a few problems when I first moved in, I was not too sure about going to the toilet in the garden or park. That’s all under control now. Today we went to the Greyhound & Lurcher show at Great Notley Country Park and I met lots of new friends. Thank you all for looking after me so well, while I was waiting for my new family to pick me up. Good luck to all the other dogs staying with you at the moment, I am sure they will all find homes as good as mine. Love Jessie xx

Lara

Lara

Hello Mutts in Distress,
I would like to inform you that one of your long term residents, Lara the Boxer dog, who we took on nearly four years ago, has passed away.
Lara was ten years old when we took her on, reaching almost fourteen, she had done so well in a loving home and was adored.
She had such a wonderful life and brought us so much happiness. We took her to many places and she experienced lots of things, regularly going paddling in our nearby rivers and retrieving huge rocks.
She was truly an amazing dog and we feel blessed to have been part of her life. We miss her so much.
The work you do is so important and rewarding, giving all your dogs a new home and the chance to be loved again makes me happy. Thank you for giving us the chance to make a difference to Lara’s life, we will never forget her. If you need any volunteer work done at Mutts, I’d be happy to help out.
Gary and Mandie.

Jackson

Jackson

Jackson, we think, is approx 16 years old.  He came to us in March 2011 from Mutts in Distress, where he had been for 14 months having been abandoned sometime in December 2009.
During his time with us, he has survived 2 bouts of cancer and although he is now rather stiff and has fading eyesight he still enjoys life.  He loves to go for gentle walks and plays when in the mood.  He adores pottering round his garden and still loves his food, especially cocktail sausages which he was first given during his time at “Mutts”.
Jackson is a lovely old gent, he is very happy, safe and knows how much he is loved.

Stan

Hi everyone at Mutts,

Just wanted to send an update on how I’m getting on in my new home over the last couple of months!  I am so happy, they love me to bits and take me to work everyday in the car, which is my favorite pastime!  I get taken for long walks, I get fussed over by everybody at work and at home and they all play ball with me.  They have said how much I cheer them up when they see me in work!  I have been to the vets and have lost a lot of weight which he is very pleased with. I visit my nan and she has a little spaniel who was scared of me at first because I am so big, but now we play together and she even pinches my bone off  me!  I live with a cat who I really don’t take any notice of, just when she wants me to know who is boss and that is definitely her, so I just let her get on with it.  I am not scared of any men as I used to be and have been at home when there is a party going on and I loved having all there people there to play with.
So thank you to my foster mum for looking after me for all that time and a special thank you to Mutts for believing in me.
All my love,
Stan  xxx
