Letters to Mutts

It's great to hear from people who have given a home and a family to one of our dogs. Here are some of the letters we've received.

Papa

Papa

I would just like to say a big thank you for your help and energy in finding
homes for our foster dogs. Particularly Pappa. Skippy has gone to a new home today,-
a perfect home to live as a companion to a 9 year old Collie girl with a
very similar energy –  playful and youthful for her age.
Garden and long walks – super. I would like to make a donation to your charity.
Wishing you every success in your work with animals
Love and Light and Godbless you all,
Michele x

Tiffany

We adopted Tiffany (now named Pippa) in mid December last year and she has been living the life ever since. She felt at home immediately and has quickly gotten used to sleeping in my bed every night and even sneaks up there during the day for a middle of the day snooze!
She absolutely loves her food and gets chicken every night, she also loves our other dog Billy – she worships the ground he walks on. She is extremely affectionate, she follows us around everywhere and constantly jumps onto our laps for cuddles, so I think it is fair to say that she has landed on her feet! We are pretty certain she had an abusive past as up until recently, any loud sound or sudden movement has made her cower and appear terrified which was very sad to see but luckily she has seen nothing but love ever since she came home. She and Billy make a classic Jack Russell team, they chase after anything and everything and bark like crazy. We are so pleased to have found Pippa, and Billy especially is a new happier dog ever since she came home. So thank you!
Lydia and Pippa

Bella

Dear Pat,
Bella here ..I have only been here 31 hrs but I know I am home. I have got at everyone before they got me but no-one took any notice!! I have my own crate with a duvet, vetbed and a fur throw inside. I get in there and go to sleep in a cosy corner. It is like a tent and I can still see what is going on as I have got a glass wall next to my den!! I have been for lovely walks and had some scrummy food. My humans are being cool, not overfussing me and letting me do everything in my own time, hey they even throw sausages at their feet that I used to think may hurt me.
Mum did tell me I was not coming back to you, so I wanted to say thanks to you and all the people that looked after me at the kennels. Without you all believing in me, I would never have found my family. I promise you all I am going to try and be good and wag my tail lots. I will send a photo in a week or so and keep you updated,
love and licks Bella. xxxx
ps, Look, I have had a haircut !

Rehoming a hound

Rehoming a hound

Hi Jill,
Just to let you know that I went last night (Friday) to meet and homecheck Mr and Mrs Marlow.  They are very interested in rehoming a rescue and are now in possession of their pass form, so I anticipate they’ll be over to look shortly.
Mrs Marlow said she recently accompanied her friend to the centre and was very impressed in how it was run.  She said she loved it because it had a good feel to it and that all the dogs looked to be very well cared for. She rated it far more highly than other rescues. They have a lovely home with fantastic dog walking places, so any dog being rehomed with them will have a superb lifestyle.
All the best,
Karen

Max

Hi.  I wanted to write and thank you so much for letting us rehome Max (Bobby) from you all those years ago. We got him I think November time in 2002 and he gave us 12 years and loads of great memories.  Unfortunately, we lost him last week. He was at least 13 and had always been an enthusiastic and friendly dog, who loved to chase a ball or curl up by your feet.  I will miss him massively but will treasure the memories I have of him.
Thank you again.
Love Karen

Maddie

Dear Aunt Pat and all at Mutts,

I wanted you all to know that since my Mum and Dad gave me my new home in Aug 2013 with my brother Flynn the Lurcher, I’ve been having a lovely time. My Mum and Dad can’t believe I was in kennels for nearly a year as they think I’m adorable.
I am going to Doggy School as the man there says I have fear aggression. I’m still a little nervous of new doggies but I’m getting better all the time, I am doing really well and now top of my class.
I have done lots of lovely things such as going to the sea side for my holiday and have sent you some snaps.
Most importantly, I wanted you to know that I’m really happy and very loved by my Mum and Dad and Brother Flynn who adore me.
Lots of love
Maddie xx

Molly

Just a quick line to say that Molly (Twirl) has very quickly settled into her new home. She has already formed a lovely relationship with my wife, which is great for both of them.

Everyone that meets her thinks she is gorgeous, which of course she is!
Thanks again

Jon

Flower

Flower

Just to let you know,Flower has settled in perfectly. She adores everyone and I could not wish for a nicer pooch.
She has enjoyed her walk yesterday and her treats and is making good use of her new bed in front of the radiator. 10 out of 10, a wonderful, beautiful, loving little beauty.
Thanks alot and good luck to all the other dogs. From what I can understand from my visit yesterday to collect Flower, all the remaining dogs could not wish for a better “halfway house”.
Thanks and loads of love from me and Flower xx
